Stoomgenerator met stoom onder druk

So very sad to announce that after over 11 years of faithful, consistent and outstanding performance, our 'family iron' (my children are 12 & 9) is having to be retired as at the latest switch on, the RCD on the Consumer Unit tripped and continues to do so each time the iron is switched on at the plug - sad day indeed. I have loved (not an understatement) this iron from the very beginning as its detachable tank means I do not have to drag the whole unit to the tap or find a bottle to fill it up at the ironing board. It warms up and pressurises quickly and effortlessly cuts the mountain of ironing I have each week down to size. We will be purchasing, what I hope is, its bigger and better brother without considering any of the others out there. hard to see how it could be bettered though.

I have been using steam generator irons for the last 10 years and this is my 2nd Phillips. The unit does everything it says on the box, heats up quickly and is very easy to use, the only slight glitch is the steam button sometimes gets stuck but its not a major problem. If you hate ironing get one of these you'll power through your ironing pile in no time.

We've had this steam generator iron now for over 2 years and it has had constant use. It works as you would expect and irons and steams efficiently. Some operational issues arose during our ownership however: The unit occasionally trips the RCB in our consumer unit. No idea why, but we have identified the iron as the cause. There seems to be nothing wrong with the iron, so this is a mystery. You do require to clean the tank out more frequently than the manual suggests. This may be due to our water hardness and as we can't fill it with our softened supply, this may be useful to know for other users in a hard water area. The water tank - we had to replace 3 (expensive!). Now the design and plastic material has changed, this has been fixed. The original brittle polycarbonate units cracked and leaked but the new polypropylene material is far better (the colour is nicer too...).

malgrè l'utilisation d'eau déminéralisé,le nettoyage fréquent de la cuve avant que le voyant n'intervienne,vous l'allumez et là , grosse pulvérisation marron sur le linge,je suis dégouttée , j'ai tout essayé ,ça arrive encore

En utilisant la vapeur au maximum l'appareil siffle et des écoulements d'eau brunâtre se produisent. Le linge a été tâché.
